As I was never able to use VAAPI…and therefor do not know what it is actually used for (maybe reencoding for live view?) I would like to know if there are any plans to also support nvdec/nvenc for acceleration…
Today I’ve spent time testing zoneminder 1.34.22…VAAPI seems to work…at least live view via browser is fluent…though the benefits of using a GPU is a decrease of 1 - 5% CPU usage…
So what is the actual benefit of using VAAPI , and maybe Cuda in the future in bluecherry?
From my tests today the CPU usage in bluecherry for just recording h264 RTSP streams is way lower as with zoneminder…which is a very good sign
