Bit of advice for new linux user seeking VMS

I am in a bit of a mess and wondering if anyone has been where I am!

I have been using Mac computers for years, recently switched to Linux (Fedora). We have several macs around the home to monitor ip cameras. We have a Hikvision NVR and 9 or 10 Hikvision IP cameras which are all PoE.

Until now iVMS-4200 did the trick, horrible but worked. It’s not an option on Linux apparently, so I have been looking for alternatives. BlueCherry keeps coming up so thought I’d join here and ask if anyone can answer a couple of questions:

  1. Can it perform similar function to iVMS4200? (We mainly just need monitoring and occasionally playback for last 10 minutes)

  2. Can a non-linux geek install it on Fedora?

Thanks
