BC Recording to local disk! Serious

Operating System: Debian 12
BC Version: 3.1.14

I am having a serious and annoying issue.

BC Server is recording to the local disk at /var/lib/bluecherry, even though it’s not listed as a storage space and I have no idea why.

It’s not happening continuously, just occasionally so I have no idea what’s triggering this. After a few days, I will find random recordings in there.

I don’t know if there’s something up with the latest server version, but I never had this issue in the past. Also I can’t confirm that this is due to the new version because I think this started happening after some time, maybe weeks or months after installing the latest version.

It’s filling up the server disk space and crashing the server.

Just a thought, since by default bluecherry dvr sets recordings to /var/lib/bluecherry, is it possible your mnt point might be having issues and bluecherry is falling back to that location? Are you getting any errors relating to your mounted storage?

That’s a good thought.

I already checked it and not only is the mount up but it’s also recording simultaneously to that as well.

I don’t ever recall there being a fallback recording location. I don’t believe that’s a feature in BlueCherry.

Was just a thought. I’ve never seen anything on a fallback either.
